- The classroom and homework assignments are viewed as practice to help students master the learning objectives. Students keep track of their tasks and learning in their individual portfolios.
- Evidence = something that shows the student has MASTERED the learning goal (that he/she knows the skill without assistance). For example: quiz, test, project, etc.
- Students may not need ALL the opportunities for evidence to master a learning goal (they need 3 pieces of evidence scored at a MASTERED level). If they master the first 3 opportunities, they've mastered the goal! If not, they can continue trying as they have multiple opportunities to show they know it.
- Work habits and student learning are reported separately.
